All Of The CMT Artist Of The Year Honorees Will Perform This Year

This year’s CMT Artist of the Year special will be a salute to women in country music, and the network just announced that all of this year’s honorees - Carrie Underwood, Miranda Lambert, Kelsea Ballerini, Maren Morris, Little Big Town’s Karen Fairchild and Kimberly Schlapman and Lady Antebellum’s Hillary Scott - will perform during the special.

The show will feature some interesting collaborations, most of which will also be all female. Among them:

• Carrie will be joined by her future “Cry Pretty” tourmates Maddie & Tae and Runaway June
• Miranda will take the stage with her group Pistol Annies to perform a track from their upcoming album “Interstate Gospel”
• Kelsea will team with Alison Krauss for a song
•  Karen and Kimberly will be joined by Gladys Knight 
• Hillary will perform with Tori Kelly and gospel artist Kirk Franklin
• And Maren will team with Brandi Carlile for a salute to Aretha Franklin

The show will also honor Loretta Lynn with the Artist of a Lifetime Award

The CMT Artist of the Year special will air live from Nashville’s Schermerhorn Symphony Center on October 17^th
