Artists Share At-Home Performances On “ACM: Our Country”

The ACM Awards were supposed to go down last night in Las Vegas, but the coronavirus caused them to be delayed until September. But that doesn’t mean there wasn’t some great country music to enjoy.
The ACMs and CBS teamed up for ACM Presents: Our Country,” which featured two-hours of performances shot from artists homes, as well as some clips from past ACM Award performances.
In addition, Bobby Bones announced the new ACM Lifting Lives® COVID-19 Response Fund, which has been created to assist individuals working in the Country Music industry who are suffering a financial crisis as a result of the pandemic. The fund will begin with an endowment of $250K, with an additional matching donation from partners, sponsors and more of another $250K.
Performances included:
- Keith Urban played an acoustic version of “Wasted Time” from his studio, and shared that he ws missing a lot of things, including being around people and getting to play live music for them.
- Lady Antebellum performed “What I’m Leaving For” dedicating it to doctors, nurses and first responders risking their lives to keep everyone safe. It even featured a cameo from Charles Kelley and Dave Haywood’s adorable sons.
- Carrie Underwood and her glass of red wine performed “Drinking Alone” from her couch.
- Little Big Town performed “Next To You,” sharing that it’s gonna take each other to get through this.
- Tim McGraw performed “Humble And Kind” in an all white room, with his band playing their parts from their homes.
- Kelsea Ballerini accompanied herself on guitar for her latest single “homecoming queen?”
- Shania Twain entertained the audience, and her horse. with “Honey, I’m Home” and “Man! I Feel Like a Woman”
- Old Dominion’s Matthew Ramsey and Trevor Rosen actually got in a room together, although they sat very far apart, for their performance of “Some People Do.”
- Eric Church revealed why he had hope, noting that folks have always gathered for a variety of reasons, adding, “we will gather again.” He then performed the song “Never Break Heart.”
- Brad Paisley and Darius Rucker performed two songs together, “Mud On The Tires” and “Wagon Wheel,” even though they weren’t “together.”
- Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani are hunkered down together and performed “Nobody But You” in front of a fire pit.
- Thomas Rhett performed his new song “Be A Light,” which he says felt “fitting” for the time at hand.
- Brandi Carlile performed “The Joke,” sharing that in these “difficult and confusing times” it’s good to sing “big and loud” and know that “there’s a time coming when we’ll all be smiling and laughing together again.”
- Luke Bryan performed “Most People Are Good,” dedicating it to all those on the frontlines protecting everybody.
- Luke Combs performed his hit song “Beautiful Crazy,” which he wrote about his fiancée.
- Miranda Lambert performed “Bluebird” alongside a spring at her farm in Tennessee, joking that her husband was out fishing, which is something her New York City boy needs to learn how to do.
- Dierks Bentley performed “I Hold On,” noting “I feel like we’re all holding on for dear life right now waiting for this to pass.”
- Kane Brown and John Legend performed their new collaboration “Last Time I Say Sorry” together (thanks to Facetime).
- Florida Georgia Line performed “Blessings” together in Brian Kelley’s living room, with their families, including Tyler Hubbard’s two adorable kids, and Brian’s dog, joining the fun.
- Sheryl Crow performed “I Shall Believe” at a piano beside a roaring fire.
- The show ended with a tribute to the late Kenny Rogers, with Brad and Darius performing “Lucille” and “The Gambler” and Luke Bryan performing “Coward Of The County.” It was followed by some comments from Kenny’s good friend Lionel Richie, along with footage of a classic performance of “Lady,” which Lionel wrote for Kenny.
