Brandi Carlile debuted a new song during her concert in Costa Mesa, California earlier this week and she proves she’s not above a good fight. The song, “Cowgirls,” has Brandi standing up to the male-dominated music business and the National Rifle Association. She even dedicated the song to “the boys in the country-music industry.”

The song features a lyric in which Brandi comes right out and sings, “the NRA can kiss my country ass,” and then calls out the male-dominated country radio.

“Listen to the radio and sing along, you’re not saying anything," she sings. "You never laid a railroad tie or watched a lonesome cowboy die, or listened to the bells of freedom ring. Now that you’re just spittin’ in the wind, it’s time for you to let them cowgirls in.” Check out Brandi’s performance to the right.
