While we may be used to seeing Chris Stapleton play Bridgestone Arena, his latest performance there was a pretty big shock. It seems the singer was in the audience at Tyler Perry’s “Madea Farewell Tour,” the first play ever to be staged at the arena, and Chris treated the crowd to one of his most popular songs.

Video shows  Chris’ “Tennessee Whiskey” beginning to play, with Chris rising from the audience with microphone in hand to sing for the audience, who screamed in excitement and happily sang along.

“Madea could not come to the end of the farewell tour and have @chrisstapleton in the audience in Nashville, Tennessee and not have him sing a verse of Tennessee Whiskey!,” Perry shared on social media. “And he KILLED IT!! Thank you Chris, blessings to you, your wife, and them babies!! #MadeasFarewellTour at @bridgestonearenaofficial." Check it out to the right.
