As we previously told you, Kalie Shorr recently revealed that she has been diagnosed with coronavirus, and now she’s defending herself against accusations that she was faking her illness.
Kalie tells “People” that she posted about her diagnosis because she felt it “was easier for me to tell my entire extended family by posting it.” But not long after her post the accusations started flying, with some suggesting she wasn’t being careful enough.
“It’s crazy how critical people have been when all I’m trying to do is share my experience,” she says, insisting, “I was being really diligent about it.”
Some thought she wasn’t even sick because she had been posting frequently on her social media page, but she explains it took eight days for her to get her tests back, and in that time she was already past the worst of it.
“I wasn’t about to be vague, like, ‘I’m sick. It could be corona,’ but then it isn’t. That feels attention-seeking, right?,” she says. “So I was like, I’m going to wait it out and if it comes back positive, I’m going to talk about it.”
As for how she’s doing now, she says she’s feeling “pretty normal.”

Despite being quarantined (except for a handful of trips for groceries) for three weeks, I managed to contract COVID 19. I'm feeling significantly better, but it's proof how dangerous and contagious this is. It's endlessly frustrating to see people not taking this seriously.

Kalie Shorr has revealed that she has been diagnosed with coronavirus despite the fact that she’s been in self-quarantine.
“Despite being quarantined (except for a handful of trips for groceries) for three weeks, I managed to contract COVID 19,” she tweeted. “I'm feeling significantly better, but it's proof how dangerous and contagious this is. It's endlessly frustrating to see people not taking this seriously.”
As for how bad things got, she shared, “The first few days were absolutely miserable. I've never felt like that before. My entire body was in pain, and my fever was like riding a wave. I completely lost my sense of taste and smell.”
