Kenny Rogers' death earlier this month has sparked so much renewed interest in his music that it's brought him back to the top of the charts.

"The Best of Kenny Rogers: Through the Year” is number one the "Billboard" Top Country Albums chart this week, moving 31,000 equivalent album units. The tune is also at nine on the all-genire "Billboard" 200. The album is now Kenny’s 12th number one, and his first since 1986’s “The Heart of the Matter,” which spent six weeks on top.

In addition  Kenny’s “The Gambler” tops the all-genre Digital Songs Sales Chart, while his Dolly Parton collaboration, “Islands in the Stream” is at two.

“The Gambler” saw a 5,543% increase in downloads in the week following Kenny’s death, making it the oldest song to lead the Digital Songs Sales Chart. That record was previously held by Prince’s “Purple Rain,” which topped the chart following his April, 2016 death.

Plus...both “The Gambler” and “Islands in the Stream” re-enter the Hot Country Songs chart this week, “The Gambler” at 14 and “Islands” at 20.

Elsewhere on the chart...

  • Kelsea Ballerini's latest album, "kelsea," debuts at two on the Top Country Albums chart,  her highest debut, and highest-ever ranking on that chart.
  • Luke Bryan's "What She Wants Tonight" tops the Country Airplay chart, making it Luke's 22th number one.  He now has the sixth-most Country Airplay number ones, with Kenny Chesney still in the lead with 30.
