The inductees for the 2019 Songwriters Hall of Fame have been announced, with six songwriters getting the nod this year, including John Prine and Tom T. Hall.
Prine, a solo artist in his own right, has also written tunes recorded by such stars as Bette Midler, Johnny Cash and Bonnie Raitt, while Hall has written several number one country songs, including Jeannie C. Riley's smash "Harper Valley P.T.A." in 1968.
This year’s other inductees include Eagles songwriter Jack Tempchin, Cat Stevens/Yusufm Missy Elliott, the first female rapper to get inducted, and Dallas Austin.
The 50th annual Induction and Awards Dinner, will take place June 13 at the Marriott Marquis Hotel in New York’s Times Square.
