Country Stars Help CMT Celebrate Heroes On The Frontline

CMT celebrated heroes on the frontlines last night with “CMT Celebrates Our Heroes: An Artists of the Year Special.” The telecast, which took the place of the network’s annual “Artist of the Year” celebration, focused on healthcare workers, food industry workers, the U.S. military, first responders and more. 

The show opened with some remarks from Little Big Town’s Karen Fairchild, before the band lunched into the tune “Bluebird.” Other performances included:

  • Luke Combs performed his recently released single “6 Feet Apart,” which he wrote about the coronavirus quarantine.
  • Thomas Rhett performed his latest single “Be A Light.”
  • Brothers Osborne, who helped surprise two frontline heroes in Maryland, performed the new song “Make It A Good One.”
  • Darius Rucker performed a cover of Randy Travis’ “Forever and Ever Amen.”
  • Lady Antebellum wanted people to get up and dance with their performance of their latest single “Champagne Night”
  • Kelsea Ballerini set out to honor the youth of America helping their community, performing “You’ve Got A Friend.”
  • Brandi Carlile sang “Most of All,” dedicating it to all the parents out there who haven’t been able to see their kids or grandkids due to quarantine.
  • Sam Hunt performed the Bruce Springsteen song “Jack Of All Trades,” which appeared on his album “Wrecking Ball.”
  • Miranda Lambert performed “Bluebird” from her “magic porch” in Nashville.
  • Tim McGraw performed his new single “I Called Mama.”
  • Florida Georgia Line performed the song ‘U.S. Stronger,” from their recently released EP “6 Pack.”
  • Kane Brown gave a shout out to delivery drivers and frontline workers before performing the classic “Stand By Me.” 
  • In addition to the performances, the show featured appearances by several stars giving shout outs to doctors, teachers, essential workers and more. They included  Blake Shelton, Carrie Underwood, Reba McEntire, Lee Brice, Bobby Bones, Cody Alan, Jake Owen, Sean Penn, Kristen Bell, Scarlett Johansson, Lauren Daigle, Keith Urban, Gary Sinese, Jason Aldean, and Zac Brown
