Americana star Justin Townes Earle, son of singer Steve Earle, has died at the age of 38. No cause of death has been revealed.
“It is with tremendous sadness that we inform you of the passing of our son, husband, father and friend Justin,” read the statement on Justin’s Facebook and Instagram. “So many of you have relied on his music and lyrics over the years and we hope that his music will continue to guide you on your journeys. You will be missed dearly Justin.”
Justin dropped his first album “Yuma” in 2007, and followed that up one year later with his full-length debut “The Good Life.” He was the winner of two Americana Music Association Awards, in 2009 for New and Emerging Artist of the Year, and in 2011 for Song of the Yaer for “Harlem River Blues.”
