Margo Price has dropped the video for her latest single “Hey Child,” with Margo describing it as “part short film, part music video.”
“It explores the perpetual cycle of addiction, depression and self medication, all things I’ve struggled with in my life,” she shares. “My husband @jivey and I wrote this song back in 2012 not long after we lost our son and everything seemed to be crumbling around us.”
She adds that Sturgill Simpson “convinced me to resurrect it,” noting that while she was “reluctant at first” she’s glad she did.
- Meanwhile, Margo is ready to get back on stage for people. She just announced an in-person concert, taking place May 28th. The socially distanced show, featuring Margo’s husband Jeremy Ivey as opener, will be at the outdoor venue The Caverns Above Ground Amphitheater in Pelham, Tennessee. Tickets go on sale Thursday and will be sold in pods of two, four or six.
