Morgan Wallen’s new double album, “Dangerous: The Double Album,” officially drops Friday, but apparently some fans got their hands on it early, thanks to Wal-Mart.

It seems the big box store made copies of the album available early, and those who were lucky enough to snag one started leaking songs online. Morgan wasn't happy but he had an odd response to the news -  he started sharing some songs online himself.

“Hey y’all. It’s been brought to my attention that some of my music — well, my album — has leaked at some Wal-Marts around the country,” he shared on social media. “I don’t know how that’s possible, but it has. And all the sudden some of y’all are posting trying to spread the new music which I’m super thankful for.”

He adds, “I’m glad you’re eager to do that. But man, I’ve been working on this album for three years and I’ll be damned if I’m gonna let Wal-Mart do the leaking like that let. So just keep up with me on here, and I’m gonna start doing the leaking of the songs myself. “

Morgan then went on TikTok and shared snippets of new tunes like, “Warning,” “Rednecks, Red Letters, Red Dirt” and the title track “Dangerous.”

  • Morgan wasn’t too thrilled with Wal-Mart though, noting, “It’s kind of messed up, but I don’t shop at Walmart anyway. I also gave Target two extra songs, so if you’re gonna buy my album, go to Target, baby.”
  • ONE MORE THING! Wal-Mart was quick to apologize to Morgan for the mistake.  “We are deeply apologetic to Morgan for this unfortunate situation,” a spokesperson for Walmart tells Rolling Stone. “We appreciate Morgan as an artist and understand his frustration and disappointment. We have protocols in place to help ensure new albums are not sold before the release date, yet in this instance his album made its way to the shelf in a handful of stores early." They add, "We’re actively removing any albums remaining on the shelves in those stores to hold until the official release date, and taking additional precautionary measures for the future.”
