As we told you, Mickey Guyton wowed on the AMC Awards with her performance of “What Are You Gonna Tell Her?” Well, it turns out she made history as the first-ever African American woman to perform on the ACM Awards, and it's a moment she'll never forget.

“I’m overwhelmed, I’m hormonal, I’m so blessed and so excited and so thankful for the army and village of people that, first of all, put me together, and the country music community for embracing me and giving me this opportunity,” she shared on social media after the show. “I love you guys so much. Thank you, thank you, thank you.”

The performance was so important and such a showstopper that several country stars took to social media to praise Mickey.

“Beautiful song. Beautiful performance. Beautiful person. Congratulations @MickeyGuyton,” Shania Twain tweeted, while Kelsea Ballerini added, “Wow. @MickeyGuyton that is a performance that will make people listen, think, and change. Me included. You are a force.”
