Another sign of the holiday season is the official lighting of the Rockefeller Christmas tree in New York City, and that went down last night with a star-studded celebration, "Christmas In Rockefeller Center," that aired on NBC.

Due to the coronavirus there were no fans cheering in the cold as the tree was lit, and not all the performances took place at Rockefeller Plaza, but it still brought the Christmas cheer. Performances included:

  • Tori Kelly performed "This Christmas" and "Sleigh Ride."
  • Kelly Clarkson  performed "Underneath the Tree" and was later joined by Brett Eldredge for their recently-released holiday track "Under the Mistletoe."
  • Dolly Parton with Jimmy Fallon performed Mariah Carey's classic  "All I Want For Chrismas Is You," and then Dolly performed "Mary Did You Know?" solo.
  • The Goo Goo Dolls performed their original holiday song "This Is Christmas" and "Let It Snow."
  • Brett Eldregde brought some holiday cheer to frontline workers outside New York Presbyterian Hospital, serenading them with "Holly Jolly Christmas" and "I'll Be Home For Chrismas."
  • Gwen Stefani performed "Here This Christmas" on a tree and candy-can filled soundstage, and returned to perform "You Make It Feel Like Christmas."
  • Meghan Tranor and Earth, Wind & Fire teamed up for "Holidays," off her album "A Very Trainor Christmas."
  • Pentatonix, who seem to put out a holiday album every year, performed "Happy Holiday" and "Amazing Grace."
  • Dan + Shay performed their original holiday tunes "Take Me Home For Christmas" and "Christmas Isn't Christmas."
  • "Glee's" Matthew Morrison performed "O Holy Night."

In addition, the Radio City Rockettes made a holiday appearance and the cast of the Tony Award-winning show, “Ain’t Too Proud" performed "Rudolph The Red Nose Reindeer" and "Christmas, Baby Please Come Home."
