After surprising everyone yesterday morning with the announcement that she had a new album dropping...this morning at midnight...it’s here: Taylor Swift’s “evermore.” And unless you’ve been under a rock, one look inside the Twitterverse shows that her fans are here for it.

Dropped less than five months after releasing what’s been referred to as it’s sister album, “folklore,” Taylor says this, her ninth studio album, is a first for her in a number of ways. But most especially? Because of the way she approached the project.

“I’ve never done this before,” she explains. “In the past I’ve always treated albums as one-off eras and moved onto planning the next one after an album was released.” She goes on to say that a switch flipped while she was making “folklore.” “In making it,” Taylor says. “I felt less like I was departing and more like I was returning. I loved the escapism I found in these imaginary/not imaginary tales.”

  • As it happened, she also had a number of creative friends in what she calls her “musical kitchen table.” Like who? The National, HAIM and Bon Iver.
  • Of course, there are those who saw this coming – courtesy of Taylor’s habit of dropping Easter Eggs for her Swifties to find. Back on November 22nd, she posted a moody photo with the caption, "Not a lot going on at the moment.” You know, just as she did prior to ‘fokelore’s” release. Either way, let the dissection of which stories are hers and which are those of others begin!
